Festival organisers in the Borough of Scarborough have come together to form the Yorkshire Coast Festivals Association. Every major festival in the Borough is in the Association with a huge variety of festivals represented, from regattas to agricultural shows, cricket, folk and jazz, and from film to literature and drama.
We are working together to help our members by:
- Promoting their festivals through brochures and websites
- Organising meetings on subjects such as funding, programming, licensing and regulation
- Lobbying public bodies to give more support to festivals
- Seeking funding for a festivals development officer in the Borough
- Investigating on-line and centralized ticking systems
- Making festivals a major part of local tourism.
